Unleashing the little football fan!

While we were away in Chicago, Ayden had a special day with Oma as her date to the Texans game.  They met up with Aunnie and Uncle Matt to tailgate pre-game!  Ayden had a terrific time, and came back a fan of football.  Oh my little boy is getting big!

The Windy City

Glenn, Reid and I went to Chicago in October to visit family.  It was a fantastic trip (if you don't consider that Glenn was ill almost the entire time!).  We stayed with my Aunt and Uncle, Eileen and Ross.  We were able to visit with 2 out of 3 of my cousins and my Grandma and Grandpa.  They were very excited to meet our third little man, and he was happy to be very busy and all over the place for them!  We visited with Glenn's brother and our sister in law Megan each day.  Megan cooked a wonderful birthday dinner for me, and we did a fantastic job baking some delicious cupcakes!

The visit was a welcome break to life with three kids, as two were left in caring hands of their Oma and Mimi!  Reid was more than happy to take all the attention that I offered him.  We walked through some amazing suburbs with fun shopping, ate yummy meals, saw some of God's handiwork in the foliage, and visited with family that made you feel all warm and fuzzy inside.  The north in the fall is a beautiful experience!

Seriously, September Still???

Yes, this crazy lady is still blogging about things that happened in September.  I am not a good blogger...consistency is one of the most important parts of being a good/decent blogger, and I am not that.  Lately life has been more important.  It is important to me to catch up with life here, because I really get a kick out of looking back!

And these things in September...very very important!!!

A dear friend got married in September, and it brought great moments with terrific friends!  Courtney and her family came to stay with us, and we had a wonderful time with the kids.  Sleepovers every night, and kids playing each breathing moment.  I love having my best friend in the same zip code!

The day before the Steffek's departure, they took some AWESOME family photos, and we had a very fun marshmallow roast.  The kids had a blast, and then we decided after a smore, grown up's needed to snack on some smashed cake from the photo shoot!  Seriously, you can only live once right?

Traditions

A-Beautiful Pools, Inc. has completed it's 25th summer this year.  We are simply blessed.  Blessed with growth, fantastic staff, fun times, and safe pools!  Family businesses feel just like their name...family.

In my first years as a supervisor (when there were 7 of us instead of 23), we would end the summer with a company trip to the Comal River in New Braunfels, TX.  It was a well received idea to bring back the tradition in 2010, and bring upper management to the Comal to celebrate a successful summer.  The wonderful toppings to the trip, was that out of the 9 employees that attended in 2010, 5 of us had been together in the last 8 years on that very trip.  Another fantastic blessing...we have all come back to a job that has rewarded us each after finishing college and obtaining degrees!  **We didn't have the courage to stay in the 20 person bunk house, but it was still just as fun!

We had a GREAT time.  Families were invited, and my little ones had a great time floating the river for the first time.  Glenn was in his element at the Texas Ski Ranch (cable park for water sports), and the meals and entertainment were delightful!
