27 weeks last Thursday!

We had a great Memorial Day weekend! I can't wait to post pictures from my husband's boy trip to the Ranch. They had a great time, and came back late, tired and smelly.

Last Thursday I was 27 weeks. The baby is the weight of a head of cauliflower. Fun fact: He is getting his baby hiccups.

His room is coming together- hoping to post pictures soon. While the boys were away I got a lot done in terms of organizing and my bought me a new car seat for this little one! This one will fit in the double stroller for whichever big boy gets tired legs. I also purchased some new boppy covers (they get pretty nasty over time stored away, even though they had been washed), swaddling blankets (they have come a long way in 4.5 years), and a few baby bottles (BPA free) in case I am lucky enough to have a babe this time that takes the occasional bottle.

Enjoy.....

Sleeping Arrangements

I have always wanted to co-sleep with my kids. Biggest problem with this set up is ME. I cannot sleep. So with Ayden and Mason, I pulled them into bed for the few three months and grinned and beared it. Some days we went and slept in the spare bed, some days they would sleep on their own, but many days we would just try to sleep as best as we could together.

The biddgest reason I want to co-sleep is because of my nursing relationship with my kiddos. We nurse on demand, and it is so much easier to roll over and feed a baby, then get up, get baby up, get comfy in a chair or bed, and then put a sleeping baby back down. Normally they WAKE up.

So I have researched several different ways for this new little one to sleep. First I thought I would want a hammock- thinking he would sleep longer between feedings. Then I found a website about sidecarring a crib. This is where you take the fourth rail off of your crib and push it against the bed- and make the mattresses level, a great invention for a co-sleeping mother who can't co-sleep! This way the rolling over, not moving a baby, and being close all works out but everyone has their own space.

I was going to use our crib for this, but I was a little upset about loosing the flexibility of a crib in the nursery, and the crib taking up tons of space in our room. Since I will be going back to work- I still like our babies to nap ok on their own, so I like having both solutions availiable to us if it works. I started looking on craigslist and Woodlands Online and found this mini-crib used. I got a great deal.

Then I bought some extra matresses to have the bed and crib even. This made the crib rails not tall enough, so I purchased some bed risers for the crib to litteraly raise the level of the crib. I bought one more extra mattress to fill in the gap between the mini crib and the bed- and here we have my dream sleep solution. I padded the bumper pad against the back wall to make sure the top mattress stays flush with our bed. I still have to paint the raisers black and get some sheets for the bottom mattress. We will also be attaching the crib to our bed with zip ties, and bungee cords. The crib will be further up towards my head as well- I was just measuring height with this set up. I got many of my ideas and catered them to fit our bed/crib from here.

Here are our initial pictures, and you know in three short months I will be posting a picture with a cute little boy sleeping soundly next to his mama!

Seasons are Changing

I am so sad that the school year is coming to an end. It seems like yesterday that Mason started his first year of Mothers Day Out and Ayden started his first year of Preschool! Both the boys have the most amazing teachers. They are truely a part of our lives, and we will miss them dearly over the summer, and can't wait to say hi again next school year. I wish you could take your teachers with you each year, but I know there will be more great teachers to come!

Ayden and Mason had a summer program. I was helping with Mason's class, on stage- so we didn't get any pictures of him. He did march right up to the mic though and say loudly "Hi Ayden!"

We are looking forward to a fun summer with Ms. LeAnn coming over three days a week and fun times with our Oma and Mimi!

I also really love our progression of trying to get a decent picture with our kids...haha...we got to a good compromise. **And with everything that is hard- I find myself wondering how on earth I will do this or that with 3 crazy boys.

And what happens on the way home when mama forgets to remind her almost three year old to go potty before leaving???

26 weeks!

Here we are at 26 weeks. I am really starting to feel like this little bump is not so little, and it is getting in the way of things. The washer and dryer don't like the bump, the boys bed rails for hugs don't like the bump, the toys on the floor don't like the bump... This is going to be a long 14 weeks!!!!

A Fun Saturday!

After I worked this morning we had some awesome family time. We all went to Sam's to shop for brunch Sunday morning. Ayden had his first run in with fingers in a car door in the Sam's parking lot. I was so sad for him, I remember exactly how horrible it felt when that happened to me. Dad felt badly as well, it was his door that he shut with Adyen's fingers in it. Then we went to the grovery store and came home to have dinner. After dinner we decided to swim in place of the nightly bath. The boys are becoming such awesome swimmers. I am so proud. When I watch them swim or watch the video, I fully expect that they should both be swimming well. Then I remember that they are 2 and 4! I am so proud. Huge shout out to their wonderful swim school- FINS!

Happy Mothers Day #1!

My Mother's Day gift came in the mail today.

It was beautiful! I had a hard day today with work, being pregnant and having the boys (Fridays are mama days). I have realized during our busiest season at work, I can't do all three well at the same time right now. It is too much! The beautiful roses and thoughtful note really helped my day. I will more than likely post again after our brunch on Sunday!

Bravery

This is my being brave and posting a preggo photo in my swim suit!!!!! I have never ever ever done this, and for some reason I decided to do it on my third baby- where everyone knows, and if you don't you should- that you are bigger with each baby. I am 25 weeks today with this little one. (check out the post below for the comparison for this week)

The boys and I swam in the pool today. My first time, and our first time with it not being heated. It is 90 degrees here today, and the pool felt great.

I hope you also enjoy a cute suit behind photo of the little ones...

24 and 25 weeks

Last week I was 24 weeks :o) The baby was the length of a corn. I missed that photo due to our illnesses that kept me away from the office for most of the week and when I was there I didn't think to grab a photo. Good thing we all know what a corn looks like!

Today I am 25 weeks. I love the unique veggies and fruits. We are on the weight, and this thing has some substance. The baby is a bit over 1.5 lbs. His skin is also smoothing out, and less wrinkly.
